Instructor: Mr. Charles Kuhfeldt, CauseWay Water Consulting and Services, LLC

Location: Houston Business Roundtable Training Center, Pasadena, Texas

Cost: $40 each

Thanks to the support of our partners Texas State Energy Conservation Office (SECO) and the Houston Business Roundtable (HBR), we are happy to announce that registration is now open for two one-day technical workshops. The two workshops will be held at the HBR Training Center, 5213 Center Street, Pasadena, Texas, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The cost for each workshop is $40 until the late registration date of July 12. But don’t wait that long to register as seats fill up fast and this will be the only offering of each workshop this year. At this price, this is a tremendous value and opportunity to learn from two experts in their fields. Registration covers course materials, refreshments and lunch. Here are brief overviews of each workshop.

Steam & Cogeneration System Assessment – Tuesday, July 23, 2019

Instructor: Dr. Greg Harrel, Energy Management Services

Steam is central to the operation of most industrial facilities. Typically, steam systems comprise one of the largest operating costs associated with an industrial plant. This course will cover the operation of typical steam systems and will discuss methods of system efficiency improvement. The course is divided into three major categories:

  • Steam Generation Efficiency
  • Resource Utilization Effectiveness
  • Steam Distribution System Management

Boiler & Cooling Water Systems: Operations and Chemical Treatment – Wednesday, July 24, 2019

Instructor: Mr. Charles Kuhfeldt, CauseWay Water Consulting and Services, LLC

Steam and Cooling Water are central to the operation of most industrial facilities. In the operation of boilers and cooling systems the equipment must be protected from damage due to corrosion, scaling or fouling, and other causes. These problems can impact the cost of operation significantly and can even interrupt production. In fact, these problems can physically destroy your equipment.

The workshop is divided into three major categories:

  • Water Chemistry and Water Purification/Preparation for Use
  • Boilers and Steam Systems
  • Cooling Water Systems

The instructor will cover the operation of steam and cooling water systems and will discuss methods of system protection, limits of operation and how to maximize system efficiency through effective chemical treatment. Water use minimization and reuse is a key focus for facilities sustainability efforts. Actual case studies will be discussed.
