a year in review and goals for 2023

We hope this message finds you well and safe! If we were to summarize the year in a phrase we would call 2022 a year of transition. We transitioned from a pandemic mindset to holding hybrid (in-person and Online) meetings. Beginning January, we will meet in-person.
As we head toward the end of the year now, we’d like to review our accomplishments and hope that together, we can improve on these goals and objectives next year:
- We continued to provide educational programs monthly at Brookhaven country club.
- Certified Energy Management (CEM) course by NTAEE was held remotely. Twenty One (21) people registered and completed the course.
- Through membership and sponsorship, together we raised $15000 for the Jim Phillips Memorial Scholarship program and distributed to 7 students
- We organized 2 fantastic tours for the active members. One was in March to visit Sinclair Hotel in Fort Worth. The second tour was in August to General Motors (GM) plant in Arlington.
- Our annual energy conference was held in October at Main Event in Grapevine with 82 people in attendance and an outstanding presentations given by speakers from local, out of state , and Canada
- We are 133 active members and have 632 people on our mailing list
- We provide the presentation slides and photos on the website under the “events” menu bar.
- We support local businesses by posting their job openings at request on the website free of charge.
- For community service, we conduct free energy audit for non-profit businesses and organizations.
- We issued Professional Development Hour (PDH) certificates to the participants.
We recognize and congratulate Brian Birch, AEE International Award recipient and Madden Dillard, AEE Regional IV Young Energy Professional of the year Award recipient.
Our educational programs and the student scholarship program are funded through membership enrollment and business sponsorships. The new officers were sworn in during the holiday party on December 13th. Images from the event are available at the link below.
CEM course registration announcement will be forthcoming within the next few weeks; it is planned for remote classes conducted live by instructors.
We appreciate so very much the members that have led various committees for several years. Some of these members are stepping down. We hope you consider joining the leadership team and help us grow by bringing your fresh and new ideas. Open positions are Membership Chair, Award Chair, and Energy Conference Chair.
